1. Globe trotter
As the dust settles in Paris following the Olympic Games closing ceremony, our attention has been turned to New York, New York by way of beloved and award-winning New Zealand accessory designer Jasmin Scott’s latest drop. In this collection, Jasmin furthers her research into modern and sculptural forms, whilst staying true to her aesthetic – referencing the amalgamation of energy found in the streets of the Lower East Side. New York, New York blends classic and eclectic styles, featuring rounded, continuous chain links with custom clasps. Photographed by Clara Pafundi, the polished finish reflects the city’s energy, merging the wearer with their surroundings.
2. Brace yourselves
Another summer release drawing us out of late winter slump comes from adored Australian designer Camilla and Marc. Their collection “The Space Within” invites us to connect with our true essence, free from societal expectations. Inspired by Mary Oliver’s poem Wearing the World, the collection explores intimacy, power, and connection through lingerie accents and innovative tailoring. Deconstructed braces and belt loops bring a modern twist to traditional suiting and dresses, blending masculine and feminine elements. The colour palette balances soft hues like cream, lemon, and pink with timeless neutrals like stone and black. Creative Director Camilla Freeman-Topper describes the collection as reflecting a woman who dresses authentically, embracing her true self without apology.
3. Green light
Our muscles are still tender from the launch of New Zealand’s first Chroma HIIT Studio, the latest addition to Sala’s offerings. Founded by Sarah Lindsay, Chroma blends colour therapy with high-intensity interval training, creating a groundbreaking workout that enhances both physical performance and mental well-being. Colour therapy, or chromotherapy, uses the vibrational energy of colours to influence physical, mental, and emotional states. By incorporating colours into workouts, Sala aims to elevate performance, sharpen focus, and enrich the overall exercise experience.
4. Day and knight
Twenty-seven names are tempting us with their first drop for summer: Joust Flourishing. In true TSN fashion, the collection is playful, charming, and packing some serious panache. Inspired by princesses, knights and dragon-slayers, each piece befitting a modern medieval castle. While we have our eyes set on the limited edition tapestry jacket, the first instalment promises plenty of pieces for everyone to enjoy. From ornate florals and custom silks to checks and sweats, this tight-knit duo from Pōneke/Wellington have designed this collection all in good jest, of course.
5. Feeling scent-imental
Whether you’re saving for a winter holiday or dreaming of an island escape, Glasshouse Fragrances has added two of their coveted scents, Fireside in Queenstown and Sunkissed in Bermuda, to their core collection. Previously available only as limited editions, these beloved scents will now be offered year-round in the signature 380g soy candle format. Fireside in Queenstown, with its blend of earthy woods, smoky embers, and cinnamon, evokes the warmth of a winter retreat. While Sunkissed in Bermuda, with zesty citrus, exotic florals, and juicy pear, captures the essence of a tropical paradise. You needn’t look further than the reviews section to see how warmly their return has been received.
