Something shiny, somewhere to stay, a fresh beverage to sip, sartorial newness, and more…

1. Under the sea

Producer, singer, songwriter, designer… is there anything that Pharrell Williams can’t do? The creative has now made his debut in the jewellery world, joining forces with luxury jewellery house Tiffany & Co. to design a new collection: ‘Tiffany Titan’. Inspired by the mythological god Poseidon’s trident, sharp, spear-like spikes are prominent throughout,  juxtaposed with softly contoured links to give each piece a sense of tension and balance. Offered in 18k yellow gold or titanium with all metal or diamond iterations, you’ll find necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings each with unexpected twists on traditional diamond settings, including pavé styles with reverse-set diamonds.“I’m very inspired by the water, and the name of this collection “Titan” draws inspiration from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis– “Atlantis” which is also the name of the community I grew up in Virginia Beach,” said Williams. “The detail in all the jewellery pieces is very intentional, the use of black titanium… it’s a physical manifestation of beauty in blackness.”

Tiffany Titan is now available in-store and online.

2. In the stars

Matariki, the Māori New Year, meaning ‘tiny eyes’ or ‘eyes of god’ is celebrated at the end of June when a small group of stars called Pleiades rise above the horizon, bringing the old year to a close and marking the start of a new year. Traditionally viewed as a time to store food for the winter, weave new clothing and baskets, listen to the stories of our ancestors, and learn about the natural world, it is a celebration of togetherness, goal setting, reflecting and sharing. To mark the occasion, Wharekauhau Estate will be hosting  its second annual Matariki event, where guests can  recharge, indulge and enjoy a weekend of unencumbered relaxation. The two-night package which includes stay in Wharekauhau’s luxury lodgings will also  feature a 7-course Matariki- inspired feast on the Friday with wine pairings, pre-dinner drinks and canapés each evening, daily full country breakfast, a chilled bottle of champagne on arrival, plus discounts on spa treatments for those looking to maximise their R&R.

3. Summer fling

Capturing the essence of aperitivo hour and whimsical beach getaways, Ruby’s new ‘Holiday’ collection is an ode to Euro summer. Created in partnership with London-based Aotearoa designer Emma Jing, the colourful capsule features an assortment of Jing’s iconic accessories imagined in the brand’s vibrant prints and patterns. Designed specifically for those who will be skipping town for the winter, the collection is brimming with lightweight linen pieces, buoyant bubble hems and an irresistible gingham print you’ll want to add to cart, stat. Arriving in store and online from this Friday, this is the perfect place to start dreaming up your summer wardrobe.

Holiday is available in-store and online from June 12th, 2024.

4. Berry good

Almighty Beverages have just welcomed a new Blackberry Raspberry flavour that’s ripe for the picking. Harnessing the sweetness of blackberry and tart raspberry, this is the 3pm pick-me-up that you can feel good about drinking. Joining their other double flavour combos such as Yuzu and Lime and Peach and Ginger, Almighty Co-founder and Managing Director Ben Lenart wanted to introduce something new for those who love the layered taste. “Berries are surprisingly nuanced, we wanted to make sure we captured the perfect blend of wild and ripe juiciness along with a subtle tartness and just the right amount of sweetness,” he said.

To celebrate the launch, Almighty has partnered with cult-favourite bakery Fankery at Flight Coffee Studio and Daily Bread to celebrate.

  1. Saturday 15th of June – Fankery, Flight Coffee Studio, 222 Dominion Road, Auckland: Enjoy limited edition on-theme treats will be available alongside free Almighty Blackberry Raspberry.
  2. Sunday 21st of June – Daily Bread (all Auckland sites): Make a visit for a free can of Almighty Blackberry Raspberry with every purchase of Daily Bread’s limited edition blackberry and raspberry cream mini doughnut with a freeze-dried raspberry topping.

5. Music sounds better with you

Need some new tracks to listen to? Local label I Love Ugly is launching their inaugural vinyl record in collaboration with local record press Holiday Records to celebrate the upcoming independent artists within their community. In early March, they welcomed submissions from independent musicians around the world before bringing in Atlanta based Musician Chester Watson to form a judging panel which would select 12 submissions out of the hundreds that were entered to form the compilation record and be featured alongside Chester Watson. For a long time, we have wanted to venture into the music space. Music is a core part of I Love Ugly’s DNA and has influenced much of our creative output,” says I love Ugly founder, Valentin Ozich. “Creating a tangible product dedicated solely to music felt like a natural progression for us. We are immensely proud of this project and the talent in our global community. It excites me to think about where it can take us.” Listeners can expect a range of artists across varying genres, from Soul to Electronic, to Rock, and Rap on the record, with cultural influences from New Zealand, Australia, US and UK music scenes.

The ILU x HR Compilation Record will be available for a limited time only on the I Love Ugly website, and at all I Love Ugly Store locations in New Zealand on June 14th at 10am.
