5 things we loved this week

Ease back into regular programming this week with our selection of fashion and beauty news worth knowing.

1. Just beaming

We may only be a couple of weeks into 2024, but it’s fair to say that the double denim trend won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Joining forces on their fourth collaboration to-date is Cali-cool brand Levi’s and iconic Japanese label BEAMS, who have released a new Super Wide V2 capsule featuring three staple styles. The collection, which includes a trucker jacket, a super wide jean and a graphic tee, offers a playful take on some of Levi’s most historical styles crafted from a heavy duty selvedge denim.

2. So gelly

A cult favourite of the brand since it launched in 2003, Aēsop’s B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel is celebrating twenty years of existence. The iconic product boasts an array of antioxidant-rich ingredients including green tea, witch hazel and blue chamomile. In addition to a healthy infusion of Vitamins B and C, its honey-like gel texture will hydrate, balance and nourish the skin — ideal to reintroduce into your post-sun skin regimen.

Aēsop’s B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel is available to shop in-store and online.

3. Shady business

Launching this week from local brand BLUNT comes a new range of UV umbrellas, designed specifically to protect skin from the sun’s harsh rays. Crafted with an innovative canopy that includes a 50+ Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) to block 99% of harmful UV light, the UV series is designed to ward off the risks associated with excess sun exposure (sunburn, signs of pre-mature ageing, increased skin cancer risk) when you’re out and about this summer. Available in four buoyant shades including Sunset Papaya, Tropical Breeze, Lime Sorbet and Nautical Stripe, there’s a new brolly hue to complement all your favourite summer swimsuits and separates.

4. True to form

While they’re primarily known for their supremely comfortable line of activewear, CLIQUE Fitness also knows a thing or two about making quality swimwear. Their latest ‘Vacation’ range features a  selection of activewear, swimwear and accessories inspired by the glamorous desert oasis of Palm Springs, equipping you with all the gear you need for chic, leisurely summer. Designed to sculpt and smooth the body when worn, their control mesh features a whisper-thin layer nestled between the lining and outer fabric, providing subtle structure and support to your torso. “When we decided to make swim for this collection, the most important thing for us was for women to feel as confident in them as they do in their CLIQUE tights,” says the brand’s co-founder, Carena West. With a range of ultra-flattering one pieces and bikini styles to choose from, we know which brand we’ll be reaching for for our next beach visit.

The Vacation range is available to shop now at cliquefitness.com

5. Good sport

Up your streetwear game in 2024 with a smattering of new styles from local label Huffer who have freshly launched their ‘3 Baller’ collection in stores this week. Inspired by basketball collegiate stories and halls of fame, the new collection comprises a series of relaxed styles and silhouettes in a vintage-inspired palette of navy, cranberry, ice and grey marle. Whether you’re working from home or hitting the pavement, slip into one of the brand’s luxe hoodies, tees or boxy crews which have been reimagined in this range with textural elements of chenille, embroidery and and felt appliqué. Because let’s face it, you can never really have enough tees in your repertoire.

3 Baller is available to shop in-store and online now.
