5 things we loved this week

It might not be Christmas just yet, but it can't hurt to think ahead. Here are a few fresh and festive wares our editors are loving this week.

1. Au naturale

New luxury skincare brand TWYG (pronounced twig) launched their range of effective natural beauty formulas. Harnessing the goodness of 100-million-years of history, TWYG’s first range is loaded with the power of Bioactive Totarol, a sustainably-sourced ingredient from naturally fallen New Zealand Tōtara trees. Heralded for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, you’ll find a hearty dose of Totarol in the brand’s Renewing Antioxidant Facial Oil, Revive and Brighten Antioxidant Facial Serum and Restorative Hydration Cream. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Ryan and Steph Davies, the idea for TWYG was to create a range of sustainable yet efficacious skincare that could tackle visible signs of ageing while aiding cell regeneration and boosting the skin’s natural elasticity. “Our skin plays a crucial role in protecting our bodies from harmful organisms and pollution,” says Steph. “Ryan and I became passionate about helping people protect their largest organ by harnessing the power and potential of Totarol, and that’s where the idea of TWYG was born.” Go for the beautiful campaign imagery and chic packaging, stay for the glowing results.

TWYG’s first range is available now exclusively at twygskincare.com

2. Sun chaser

Got a few sophisticates on your Christmas list this year? Give them a gift they’ll really love with Veuve Clicquot’s limited-edition ‘Follow Your Sun’ collection. Landing just in time for summer, the capsule collection features some of the house’s finest champagnes housed in vibrant arrow boxes lettered with iconic destination names. To celebrate its launch in stores this November, Veuve Clicquot has partnered with Smith & Caughey’s on Auckland’s Queen Street to host a personalisation pop-up. After taking your pick between Veuve’s signature Yellow Label Brut or the fruity Rosé Brut cuvée, you’ll be able to customise your box with a destination that that holds meaning to you, with each personalised box also adorned with the distance between your destination and Veuve Clicquot’s cellars in Reims, France. The pop-up is only available while stocks last, so be sure to make your way in-store, stat.

The Veuve Clicquot ‘Follow Your Sun’ pop-up is available from Monday 6 November, 2023 until sold out. Visit Smith & Caughey’s on Queen Street, Auckland or shop online at smithandcaugheys.co.nz

3. Beautiful brews

In a coming together of two iconic local labels, Karen Walker and Acme have joined forces this season to release a series of chic mugs inspired by Walker’s most recent collection. “To complete this summer’s gifting we’ve worked with Acme on a bespoke palette that references our ‘Garden People’ print seen this season on silk scarves, shirts and organic chocolate and tea,” says Karen Walker on collaboration. “The glossy colours we’ve pulled from the print are calming and timeless hues for the home and as well-designed, slightly retro cups, they’ll make the simple ritual of your daily cuppa, be it out in the garden, in the kitchen, in bed or at your desk that much more enjoyable.” Arriving just in time for your festive shopping needs, we suggest getting your hands on a few to have as potential stocking stuffers for your loved ones.
