5 things we loved this week

We’re thinking pink in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with five simple swaps you can make to treat yourself and support this important cause.

1. Lash love

For renowned brow and lash brand RevitaLash Cosmetics, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a month that hits particularly close to come. Having initially started as a way to help founder Michael Brinkenhoff’s wife Gayle feel beautiful while she was fighting breast cancer, RevitaLash’s origins are as pure as it gets. While the brand has an ongoing commitment to raising money for breast cancer research and initiatives through their Eternally Pink Pledge, October marks a particularly significant time in their fundraising efforts. In Aotearoa, the brand will be continuing its partnership with Look Good Feel Better, a local charity supporting those navigating cancer treatment. For the entire month, RevitaLash’s best-selling products will be available for purchase in limited-edition pink packaging, and for every pink product sold, the brand will donate a one-month supply of RevitaLash® Advanced Eyelash Conditioner, RevitaBrow®Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner or their new RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive Eyelash Conditioner to the charity (up to a maximum donation of 3,000 units).

RevitaLash® Advanced Eyelash Conditioner (3.5ml $189 or 2.0ml $129), RevitaBrow® Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner (3.0ml $159), RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive ($149 2.0ml) limited-edition pink products are available in selected spa and salon partners nationwide and online at revitalash.co.nz from 1 October 2023.

2. Hello hydration

In a continuation of Estée Lauder’s long standing partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation NZ (BCFNZ), four of the beauty powerhouse’s top brands, including Clinique, will be raising funds to aid in education and research about the disease. For the month of October, lovers of Clinique’s best-selling Moisture Surge 100-H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator will be able to get their hands on an uber-cute pink version of the product, with $10 from each purchase going towards the BCRF. Staying dewy has never felt (or looked) this good.

The limited-edition Moisture Surge is available at Clinique counters nationwide, and online at clinique.co.nz.

3. Super soft

In 2019, Lululemon’s Chief Product Officer Sun Choe was diagnosed with breast cancer – a diagnosis that ultimately led her to have a double mastectomy. It was this personal experience that inspired the brand’s newest innovation – the Super-Soft Adjustable Front-Wrap Bra – a sports bra specially-designed for those recovering from a mastectomy, partial mastectomy, lumpectomy or reconstructive surgery. Developed from the insights of doctors and patients following their breast surgery journeys, each detail on the bra has been designed with the physical needs of the wearer in mind.

The Super-Soft Adjustable Front-Wrap Bra comes in 3 unique colourways and  is available in-store and online now.

4. Sweet sensation

If you’ve been on the hunt for a new signature scent, this is the time to commit. Most fragrance lovers have likely come across Jo Malone’s enchanting array of scents, and for the month of October, the brand will be offering their acclaimed Peony & Blush Suede fragrance in a pink-adorned limited-edition bottle. For every bottle purchased, Jo Malone will donate $50 of the retail price to BCFNZ.

Limited-edition bottles of the Peony & Blush Suede fragrance are available at Jo Malone London Britomart Boutique and Jo Malone London counters nationwide, and online at  smithandcaugheys.co.nz, and farmers.co.nz

5. Saviour serum

While you’re at it, why not make your whole beauty shelf pink this month? As part of Estée Lauder’s partnership with BCRF New Zealand, beauty buffs in search of a little extra TLC for their skin can purchase the brand’s Limited-Edition Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Serum in a limited-edition pink hue – the perfect accompaniment to the pink-coloured Clinique Moisture Surge. Not only will you be giving your skin a generous dose of nourishing ingredients, but for every purchase of the product, Estée Lauder will donate 20% of the profits to BCFNZ. What’s not to love?

Shop the limited-edition serum at Estée Lauder counters nationwide, and online at esteelauder.co.nz
