1. (Look) great outdoors
Fifty years ago, Timberland launched onto the scene delivering premium products built for adventure. Today, they’re still at the forefront of innovation and steeped in responsibility to ensure they’re leaving the world in a slightly better shape. And on the topic of shapes, this week we’re loving a few of their newest styles including the Utility Bomber jacket, $320 and their Adley Way sneakers, $250. The 100% organic cotton bomber, which can be worn unisex, is tempering our appetite for tactile utilitarian pieces that are practical for layering in this undecided weather while the sneakers give each of our fits a gorpcore edge. Walking the walk, the Adley Way sneakers are made with premium leather and Timberland’s ReBOTL™ fabric containing at least 50% recycled plastic bottles. If that doesn’t spell eco-conscious style, we don’t know what does.

3. Winter warmers
With ski season well and truly underway, what better way to round off a long day of hitting the slopes than with a decadent meal and a glass of red at one of Aotearoa’s finest wineries? For the whole of winter, Bannockburn’s iconic winery Mt Difficulty will be offering a medley of delights so you can take in the idyllic views while sipping some top-notch tipple, including barrel aged mulled gin cocktails and Cellar Sundays library vintage tastings at the vineyard’s Cellar Door. Those looking for something more indulgent can head to the restaurant, where between 4-6pm Wednesday to Sunday you’ll be able to order an après-ski feast for two which includes a slow-cooked roast meal and a glass each of Mt Difficulty Bannockburn Pinot Noir. Bon appetit!

4. Body boost
It seems that sickness has us surrounded of late. Instead of burying ourselves away, we’ve kept our ears on the ground for anything promising an immunity boost. Heralded as an effective method for keeping winter illnesses at bay, NZFOS+ Yacon is a prebiotic syrup made from locally grown Yacon ( a root vegetable native to the Andes Mountains in South America) that boasts countless health benefits. High in fibre and various antioxidants, this supplement, which has a similar consistency to molasses, supports the growth of healthy gut bacteria as well as helping to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. Whether enjoyed on its own or combined with your favourite whole foods, it’s a simple and nourishing way to give your body a little extra love this winter.

5. ‘Tis the season
Though we may still be in the grips of winter here in Aotearoa, taylor boutique is giving us a hopeful glimpse at warmer days with the release of their new SS23 collection, ‘Interrupted Perfection’. Inspired by creative director Vicki Taylor’s journey on the Otago Rail Trail, the range is an exploration of Aotearoa’s dynamic southern landscape. “Cycling through the heart of our South Island, you realise just how vast our countryside really is. One minute you’re in a parched landscape, the tail end of summer, and the next you’re deep in evergreen foliage, a sign of the new season arriving. As we open our new Dunedin store in August, I wanted to pay homage to our new home, my personal reflection of Otago,” says Taylor. Drawing on an earthy palette inspired by the ever-changing seasonal gradient, the collection is full of classic taylor silhouettes and signature suiting to guide you through the latter half of winter, with floatier silk pieces to be introduced as the season shifts into spring.
