2. The iconic 'Tees for a Cure' are back
After a long hiatus, we’re delighted that the much-loved early 2000’s ‘Tees for a Cure’ campaign is back — along with the highly sought-after Karen Walker chrysanthemum flower design, which has been re-released for this year’s campaign.
The campaign supports Breast Cancer Cure, a charitable organisation that funds breast cancer research projects in New Zealand. There are 15 t-shirt designs to choose from, created by notable Kiwi fashion designers including Kathryn Wilson, Kowtow, Kiri Nathan, Yvonne Bennetti, Wynn Hamlyn, and Zambesi.

3. A reason to celebrate with Fabric
Celebrating 20 years of retail is no easy feat, and coveted fashion and lifestyle destination Fabric has marked this superb occasion by enlisting 20 local creatives to each design a unique artwork.
Notable industry names showcasing their art include fashion photographers Delphine Planqueel and Guy Coombes, artists Ruby Jones and Ophelia Mikkelson, and fashion PR maven and model Lily Montana.
The artworks were debuted at Fabric’s flagship store in Britomart yesterday, and in-store celebrations will continue on Saturday 4 December, including a live install of designer Mahsa Willis’ artwork, a reading by model Michael Whittaker, and tunes by Jaimie and Nathan Haines.
Find out more at @thisisfabric, and visit the Fabric Britomart store to admire the artworks in person.
4. A perfume designed to evoke desire
We were intrigued to hear that this week, lifestyle boutique The Virtue debuted an alluring home and personal fragrance, ‘Narcosis’.
The Virtue’s founder Brooke Lean describes the scent as ‘animalic’, explaining her desire to create a fragrance that “inspired passion and human connection at the deepest of levels”.
Narcosis features intoxicating top notes of sichuan pepper and white peony, middle notes of powdery musk, saffron, and geranium, and base notes of clove, patchouli, and ambergris.
Speaking of the process to create Narcosis, Lean says “it was very decisive. It took four months to birth from start to finish – once I briefed the perfumers, there were minimal changes to the formulation interpretation sent from France. I received 12 samples which I narrowed down to one. I upped the indolic base, adding a deep animalic tonality. This is the edge to this perfume that takes it from a pretty rose – to something far deeper, far dirtier”.
Shop Narcosis in parfum, candle, and room spray form at thevirtue.co.nz.
