5 things we love this week

We’re across it all this week; from the newest in beauty from Dermalogica and Tronque, a one-stop pop-up shop in Grey Lynn showcasing all of our local favourites, a new range of everyday bags for Diabetics on the go, and Zambesi’s highly-anticipated Winter collection.

1. Tickled pink

With the changing seasons wreaking havoc on our skin, we’re making sure to put extra TLC into our morning routines. In the latest release from skincare extraordinaires Dermalogica comes a new Liquid Peelfoliant – a pink-coloured exfoliant peel that has dreamy rose, bergamot and raspberry scent delivering a spa-worthy experience at home. Formulated with the very best acids and enzymes (read: salicylic acid and BHAs), this product has all the necessary ingredients to help minimise pores, even the skin tone and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. This is one we’ll be stockpiling all winter long!

Shop Liquid Peelfoliant at Dermalogica skin centres, department stores, Life Pharmacies and at Dermalogica.co.nz

2. Neat necessities

For individuals living with diabetes, getting around on a daily basis with all the necessary gear to stay healthy is no easy feat. Designer Bridget Scanlan was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 20 – a life change that had her quickly learn what a struggle it would be to take her diabetic equipment with her everywhere. It was this experience that led Scanlan to found KYT (Keeping You Together) bags – a line of streamlined, stylish bags designed for people like her living with diabetes. Launching three unique new styles: SideKYT, SideKYT+ and StarterKYT, each bag is designed with insight from fellow diabetics and crafted from consciously-sourced premium leather.  “Every zip, every angle, every equipment detail has been influenced by the insights gathered from the hundreds of incredible diabetics who’ve opened up and shared their diabetes stories (and gripes) with me,” explains Scanlan. “I hope these new designs bring them some serious feel-good.” From the ultra-sleek and compact StarterKYT, to the everyday on-the-go SideKYT crossbody, KYT’s new range is helping diabetics everywhere to keep their lives organised without compromising on style.

Pre-orders for the limited first release are now available at kytbags.com, with every bag sold contributing  to charities helping to get crucial diabetes supplies to those in need.

3. Good attitude

With attitude as its number one muse, the ever-iconic Zambesi have just released their new collection for Autumn/Winter ‘23, titled Collection ‘86. Staying true to its roots, the range explores the codes of the brand, in particular, its love of individuality. Fusing together elements of street culture with a dose of contemporary styling, the brand delivers another timeless yet experimental collection, just in time for the dropping temperatures. Lovers of monochrome will delight in the palette of black, white and grey that ground the collection, with accents of chartreuse, grass and clay making welcome appearances throughout. With tailoring central to many of the designs, you’ll find an assortment of oversized coats, tuxedo jackets, and all the luxury knitwear to keep you layered up all winter long.

Collection ‘86 is available in store and online, with new pieces available weekly until the end of June 2023.

4. One-stop-shop

What better way to spend a leisurely Saturday than shopping at some of our favourite female-led Kiwi brands? From May 4th to May 20th – Bronwyn, Fankery Bakery, Hej Hej, Videris Lingerie and Raaie are coming together for a curated pop-up in the heart of Auckland’s central Grey Lynn suburb. From 10am to 4pm Thursday through Saturday, you can immerse yourself in all of the latest from these top-tier brands. Whether it’s a cute and conscious lingerie set from Videris, or a pair of covetable boots from Bronwyn, this pop-up has all the seasonable staples your heart – and wardrobe – desires.

Visit the pop-up at 568 Great North Road in Grey Lynn. Open from the 4th-20th of May from 10am-4pm, Thursday – Saturday.

5. Winning stroke

It’s no secret that we love a bit of Tronque here at FQ. From their iconic Vitamin C Body Oil to their Scar Concentrate, we adore the brand’s luxurious, ingredient-conscious products . A key philosophy for Tronque is putting an end to ‘neck down neglect’ – a philosophy that founder Tanné Snowden continues to deliver on with their latest release, the Ionic Body Brush. An elevated take on your typical dry brush, the Ionic Body Brush is made from extra fine ion-charged copper bristles that help to improve skin appearance and energy by aiding with circulation. “Dry brushing your skin with our Ionic Body Brush will exfoliate any dry skin, leaving your skin smoother and brighter, with reduced cellulite, lymphatic drainage and reduced inflammation,” says Snowden. When used alongside the brand’s Vitamin C Body Oil or Rich Firming Butter, this brush is the perfect way to give your body a bit of extra love from the outside in.
