Spring is here at last, and what better way to celebrate the season than with a host of fresh drops and an exciting new Wairarapa wine spot?

1. Inflation sensation

Deadly Ponies is officially back in our orbit. The iconic New Zealand brand has unveiled its Spring ’23 collection, marking their most significant design transformation in over a decade. Drawing inspiration from the rebellious spirit of British art sensation Tracey Emin, this collection radiates anarchic energy. “I have been drawn to her gritty, thought-provoking artistic works,” says Liam Bowden, Deadly Ponies’ founder and creative director. “I love the contrast of the confessional pieces, paired with very playful materials with an innocent undertone.” This collection is a daring departure for the brand, forging a thrilling new path in the world of fashion. The item at the top of our wishlist? The ‘Mr Futon Mini’ bag ($649) in Moonstone. It’s like carrying a cloud – dreamy!

Drop II of the SS23 collection will launch on deadlyponies.com at 6pm on Tuesday 5th September and in stores from Wednesday 6th September.

The Runholder Opens

2. Run, don’t walk

Known for its spectacular landscapes and top-notch vineyards, Martinborough has just welcomed a new wining and dining spot to its midst: The Runholder. Located on a stretch of land at Te Kairanga vineyard, a plot originally held by Martinborough’s pioneering namesake, John Martin, The Runholder is home to an exquisite restaurant, tasting room, cellar door, distillery, and barrel hall space. If you fancy trying some of the region’s finest local fare, the restaurant is now open for lunch and long afternoons of shared plates, charcuterie, antipasti and pizzas. Once the weather warms, its hours will extend to include dinner, and an additional a la carte menu featuring prime cuts such as tomahawk steaks, wagyu and lamb saddle grilled over charcoal will be on offer. Accompanied by an impressive drinks list that includes Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyard wines by the glass and bottle and limited-edition barrel aged editions of Lighthouse Gin distilled by FQ muse Rachel Hall, this will be the place to be once summer hits.
