5 things we love this week

Something to sip, something to wear, and something to sparkle. These five things have us feeling shiny, bright and new just in time for the holiday season.

1. Can’t keep my hands to myself

Moving fast (and for good reason) is the latest addition to Georgia Jay’s collection of sought-after bags: The Bonbon Belt Bag.  This relaxed and elevated belt bag offers a sartorial take on hands-free errand-running. Whether you’re wearing it crossbody and casual or snug around the hip for European-inspired easability, you’ll discover an infinite number of ways to work this versatile style into your wardrobe. Featuring a slip pocket on the back, a zip opening at the front and brass buckle on the adjustable belt, this style made from supple Italian nappa handcrafted in Georgia Jay’s Tāmaki Makaurau showroom is comfortable, capable, and completely gorgeous. Not to mention that Butter hue is making us melt.

2. Tap that

Nothing motivates a WFH situation like new stationery, or better still, new tech to spice up your workspace. Form and function have been realised in equal measure in Logitech’s new K380 Multi Device Bluetooth Keyboard and Pebble Mouse. Available in lavender lemonade, sand or blueberry (for Mac), this range is slim, sleek, and portable for extra convenience. Simply sync to your devices and enjoy typing, scrolling, and everything in between with ease.

3. Shine bright like a diamond

With so many bright and shiny temptations in circulation for the holidays, the Golden Goose x Swarovski collaboration takes the proverbial cake with their dazzling release of crystal-embellished Super-Star sneakers. Available in white and pink colourways for both men and women, the iconic hand-crafted leather sneakers with matching suede stars, heel tips, and inserts, have been embellished with flatback and fancy stone crystals from the Swarovski Creators Lab.

Lifting inspiration from California’s Venice Beach skate scene, these opulent trainers still possess their lived-in signature distressed look making them far more versatile than meets the eye. In keeping with LA’s famed nonchalance, there’s also a limited-edition skateboard available in the collection featuring the distinctive Golden Goose Flag fully-drenched in black, white, and grey Swarovski Crystals on the underside as a collectable art piece if you’re that way inclined.

4. The mask that clocks-in when we clock-off

Running out of hours in the day seems to be a frequent affair this time of year which is why we’ve been reaching for Dr. LeWinn’s Ultra R4 Collagen Surge Overnight Sleep Mask come evening. Helping us achieve an ultra-smooth and well-rested complexion by morning, this mask is formulated with Collagen peptides which get to work on lifting, firming and plumping as the scientifically-proven sleep fragrance DreamScentz™ descends us into a deep slumber. Active ingredient Dawnergy™ – which acts as a ‘cellular alarm clock’ by awakening the skin to reveal morning radiance – and Synchrolife™ – an advanced complex ingredient that helps counteract the harmful effects of digital pollution – unite to de-puff and improve skin tone throughout the night.

Available at Chemist Warehouse, Bargain Chemist, H&J Smith and selected pharmacies nationwide.

5. Gin City

Press pause on sampling wines with your summer spreads and venture to the rich botanicals procured from the deep south with three unmissable and oh-so-sippable gins instead. Featuring potent profiles to complement a broad palette, Auld Gin has three distinct flavours to try this season. Distilled on a family farm in the remote Scott’s Gap, Auld Distillery is the southernmost distillery in New Zealand. Their small batch gin range has been shaped seed-to-sip on land that has been tended to by three generations since 1883. ‘Ocean’s Keep’ is inspired by the sea and is crafted with an oat base and a distillate of Bluff oysters and local botanicals; ‘Endless Fields’ takes cues from the land with a bouquet of soft fresh notes of citrus, coriander and floral-seeded grasses; and ‘Summit’s Reach’ transcends you to the soaring peaks of the mountains with welcoming notes of juniper, mountain botanicals, kanuka, and a crisp alpine finish.

Auld Gin is available in limited quantities from www.aulddistillery.co.nz
