1. CUFFING SEASON
A fashion and jewellery collab built around synergy and style, Camilla and Marc x Otiumberg takes inspiration from the former’s feminine tailoring and the latter’s love of elevated everyday jewellery for a limited edition capsule collection, launched this week. Designed to complement Camilla and Marc’s forthcoming Resort 23 range, the capsule comprises three ear cuffs and one ear pin that can be mixed and matched for a maximalist look, or worn standalone as a singular style statement. Drawing from art and architecture with their curved forms and curious textures, simple shapes are gently manipulated by hand in recycled metals, made to last. Evoking the structure and confidence one might associate with their first Camilla and Marc suit, Otiumberg co-founder Christie Wollenberg says the collaboration explores the intricacies and dualities of the modern woman – that is, “her artful enigmatic way of being and her innate sense of strength.”

3. WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND
Twenty thousand garments diverted from landfill, nearly 4000 items donated to Kiwis in need and all with the help of 145 volunteers – these numbers represent the past six months of hard mahi for Koha Apparel, a not-for-profit founded in 2019 by entrepreneur and youth social worker, Charli Cox. Partnering with local designers to redistribute high quality clothing to low-income communities and reduce the fashion industry’s carbon footprint at the same time, Koha Apparel has this week released its first ever impact report, sharing stats collected from January to June 2022 that show the remarkable difference the organisation has made across multiple, interconnected areas of society in a very short space of time. Also detailing its objectives for the next year and the resources and manpower it needs to achieve these, let this be your reminder that now’s a great time to clue up.

4. HITCHCOCK WOMAN
Returning to the stage for the first time in almost a decade, one of our most prolific TV actors Antonia Prebble is set to stun in Auckland Theatre Company’s adaptation of North by Northwest, showing at ASB Waterfront Theatre from now until November 19th. Best known as the star of Outrageous Fortune and its prequel spin-off Westside, Prebble sheds every bit of her well-worn Westie persona, donning the requisite blonde wig to portray glamorous and quick witted double agent Evie Kendall in this critically-acclaimed reimagining of the Hitchcock classic. Described as a “spectacular blockbuster of a production complete with car chases, plane crashes and the famous final cliff-hanger on Mount Rushmore,” expect high drama, impeccable costuming and world class performances to hammer home just how good we’ve got it on the local theatre front.
