STAY
The Venetian, as its name suggests, is modelled on a Venetian palazzo. Inside, Romanesque columns and Renaissance-inspired artworks adorn the ceiling in an interesting juxtaposition with the slot machines and card tables as far as the eye can see, and further inside, you’ll find a man-made canal complete with gondolas you can ride. A superficial playground for adults that’s as intoxicating as it is cringe, The Venetian offers spacious rooms and is close to anywhere you might want to go.
SUP
Conveniently located at the hotel, Wakuda is a high-end, modern Japanese restaurant with a two Michelin-starred chef. The sushi is amazing, but my highlight was the scampi flambé. I also loved how they boasted about their New Zealand salmon, lamb and Craggy Range wine!
SHOP
After perusing the luxurious stores at Wynn hotel, I headed to the more wallet-friendly Las Vegas North Premium Outlets, where I bought my children some heavily discounted Ralph Lauren.
SEE
There’s a bar in the New York-New York Hotel & Casino that features duelling pianos. Slide over a song request (and a tip) and the talented musicians will play it, sometimes while heckling your choice, the crowd and each other.
