We've rounded up the beauty looks that we, mere mortals, can recreate at home – with the help of the right products of course.

1. Lily James

If you’re as smitten with Lily James’ steely blue iridescent smokey eye as we are, you can give it a go yourself. Shop the two key Charlotte Tilbury products that make-up artist Valeria Ferreira used right here and here

2. Blake Lively

To be fair, thanks to her Versace gown, Blake Lively could have rocked up to the red carpet sans hair and make-up and we wouldn’t have batted an eyelid. Instead, make-up artist Kristofer Buckle complemented her mesmerising look with a pop of peach on the lips and soft, shimmering neutral hues on the eyes.

3. Simone Ashley

If you’re looking for an excuse to splurge on the ultimate eye palette – aka Pat McGrath’s Mothership palette – Simone Ashley’s Met Gala is it.

4. Kaia Gerber

Forget about the breathtaking Alexander McQueen gown, it was Kaia Gerber’s hair making all the headlines. The tresses – reminiscent of something from a Pre-Raphaelite artwork – were created by hair maestro, Guido Palau.

5. Kiki Layne

One might have expected an understated beauty look to complement this show-stopping Prabal Gurung gown, but make-up artist Billiegene took a playful painterly approach to Kiki Layne’s beauty look.

6. Nicola Coughlan

Yet another reason to go on and hit ‘add to cart’ on the Pat McGrath Mothership VIII Palette. Make-up artist Neil Young used the soft pink hues to create this fresh take on a smokey eye. You can recreate the subtle yet stunning lip colour at home too with Satin Allure Lipstick in Venusian Peach.

7. Normani

Priscilla Ono added a vibrant jolt of colour to Normani’s sculptural ensemble with a jewel-toned green eyeshadow.

8. Sydney Sweeney

Those lashes! That lip colour! Fortunately you can emulate Sydney Sweeney’s red carpet look with the help of Armani Beauty. Makeup artist Melissa Hernadez costed lashes with lashings of Mascara Encentrico. Her nude was courtesy of Lip Maestro in 101 Granite.

9. Taylor Hill

From a distance, it looked like Taylor Hill was letting her Miss Sohee gown do all the talking. But on closer inspection, Hill sported one of the best beauty looks of the night – the hard-to-achieve barely there beauty look. Hair stylist Laura Polko created an ethereal undone updo to complement Hill’s subtle, romantic make-up look just perfectly.

10. Maude Apatow

Euphoria star Maude Apatow certainly looked the part when she made her Met Gala debut. Make-up artist  Kelsey Deenihan Fisher used Armani Beauty’s Lip Maestro Liquid Lipstick in 201 to complete Apatow’s old Hollywood glamour look.

Now that you’ve mastered these red carpet-worthy beauty looks you might need a little wardrobe inspiration. Find out how to wear the season’s hottest colour right here
