The best celebrity wedding dresses of 2021

By Fashion Quarterly

Fashion Quarterly rounds up the most swoon-worthy celebrity wedding dresses that walked the aisle this year.

Beyond the lush florals, picturesque setting and sentimental decor, one of the most visually memorable components of any wedding day is the bride’s dress. Despite the year’s challenges for those tying the knot, these celebrities certainly didn’t let restrictions of any kind get in the way of walking down the aisle in their ultimate dream dresses.

From charming gowns inspired by the splendour of yesteryear to sleek and simple dresses that exude effortless cool, read on to discover Fashion Quarterly‘s favourite celebrity wedding dresses from 2021.

Lady Kitty Spencer in Dolce & Gabbana

The niece of the late Princess Diana captivated our hearts this year in a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown — dress one of five across her big wedding day. Lady Kitty Spencer kept things true to her heritage, channelling the fashion of the great Victorian era in a dramatic high-neck lace dress, with puffed shoulders and a corseted bodice which flowed into a full skirt, complete with a lengthy train.

Ariana Grande in Vera Wang

A long-time supporter of Vera Wang, Ariana Grande entrusted the esteemed designer once again to create her dream dress for her intimate nuptials. The pop star opted for a figure-hugging strapless dress, featuring a sculptural corseted top, a low, scooped back and a sleek free-flowing skirt.

Lily Collins in Ralph Lauren

Lily Collins looked like a fairytale princess in her custom Ralph Lauren bridal ensemble. The French Calais-Caudry lace robe was the perfect accessory to her woodland, storybook-style nuptials at Colorado’s Dunton Hot Springs.

Issa Rae in Vera Wang

Actor and producer Issa Rae enchanted her wedding reception guests in a custom Vera Wang gown (the second custom dress of the day). The Italian silk-crepe gown was equally ethereal and classic, with a plunging V-neck and an artfully layered full tulle skirt.

Gwen Stefani in Vera Wang

Gwen Stefani’s caption says it all: “you need a party dress when u get to marry @blakeshelton”. And a party dress it was, with a structured, torso-hugging bodice and floral-embellished tulle mini skirt accessorised with cowboy stiletto boots and a giant bow veil.

Meadow Walker in Givenchy

The daughter of the late Paul Walker took the aisle — hand-in-hand with godfather Vin Diesel — in a custom haute couture Givenchy dress. Constructed from silk cady, the simple and sleek halterneck dress made Meadow Walker look every part the modern bride.

Grace Palmer in Trish Peng

Kiwi small-screen sweetheart Grace Palmer tied the knot with fellow actor Rawiri Jobe earlier this year. Ever the stylish couple, Palmer opted for a show-stopping mini dress from local bridal designer Trish Peng, accessorised with satin gloves and a billowing metres-long veil, while Jobe wore a pastel-pink three-piece suit from Stolen Girlfriends Club.
