Parnell Gallery annual Christmas Exhibition

Whether you’re an avid art collector or first time buyer, Parnell Gallery’s annual Christmas Exhibition is not to be missed.

The event, which will be held on November 28, boasts small format unframed works of 200 x 200mm or 300 x 300mm, accessibly priced at just $200 or $300.

This key date on the Auckland art calendar has seen sell-out crowds since its inception in 2009, and if previous years are anything to go by, you’ll want to start queuing early to ensure you get your slice of the pie. This year’s event will showcase works by both emerging and established artists including Russell Jackson, Tom Folwell, Helena Blair and Stephen Howard.

For those new to the art scene, Parnell Gallery is meticulous about the artists and works they represent and is known for its quality and innovation. This year, the gallery celebrates 40 years of success, having opened its doors in 1976 under the well-trained eye of Sally Souness – an influential figure in the New Zealand art scene and passionate advocate for local artists. Souness single-handedly drove the success of the gallery for 35 years before her daughter, Anna Silcock, returned from London in 2011 to work alongside her in the role of gallery manager.
