It seems like an inevitable pairing; the old Kate Moss and the new Kate Moss, two British darlings teaming up for a brand that is about as British as they come.

Burberry announced via Instagram overnight that Cara Delevingne and the 40-year-old will front the fashion house’s new fragrance campaign, shot by none other than Mario Testino, which will be released later this year.

Delevingne said: “So excited to be doing a new fragrance for @burberry with the beautiful Miss Moss. Shot by @mariotestino watch this space… #katemoss.”

The 21-year-old quickly rose to stardom in the fashion industry, walking in hundreds of fashion shows and fronting high-profile campaigns.

And while Delevingne certainly isn’t the first model to be labelled the “next Kate Moss”, she does seem to evoke an unprecedented admiration from both the general public and fashion designers.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld said of Delevingne: “She is kind of a genius, like a character out of a silent movie.

“Girls admire her like they used to Kate Moss. They all want to be as free as her.”
